CLOTHING DAMAGE: MOTHS!

MOTH DAMAGE

THE RUINING OF AMERICA - THAT IS, OUR CLOTHING!

OMG! look what happened to my sweater. No, it is not a marijuana seed hole, it is from a little moth that had a party in my closet.
With solitude, peace, darkness and warmth, moths have their private affairs in your drawers, closets and attics during the times you store your seasonal wardrobe away.
Simple Steps of Clothing Protection:
1. Clean your garments before storing. Moths, like little bits of food and body secretions mixed with their fabric meal.
2. Store the most worrisome clothing, such as fine cashmere and tasty wool in sealed boxes or closed drawers.
3. Use lavender or lavender & cedar sachet herbs or spray.
Lavender & cedar herbs aromatic oils are most effective when their scents are sealed within a box or a drawer with the clothing it is protecting. Refer to sources below for lavender and cedar products to protect your clothing from these little pests.

THE MAGIC OF LAVENDER

LAVENDER
A CLOSET'S BEST DEFENSE

Lavender is a natural and effective insect repellent for both animal pests and closet moths. Scientists are attempting to isolate the chemical component that deter these little creatures in order to patent and manufacture some sort of product. In the mean time, we have the delightful luxury of the natural thing coming from the fields of California and Provence of France. The best of nature in its truest form.

Lavender certainly smells better than mothballs and mothballs are actually quite toxic. Lavender is a wonderful aromatic protection for all your clothing, most importantly your woolens and cashmere. Enjoy our earth's natural product and check out the sources below.

MANTANZAS CREEK WINERY & LAVENDER GARDENS

Yofi The Poodle

A gorgeous source of aromatic lavender products.

MANTANZAS CREEK WINERY AND LAVENDER GARDENS

FIELDS OF MY DREAMS

While our fall and winter clothing are being stored away making the moths happy, you might want to look into Mantanzas Creek Winery & Lavender Gardens who grow and create wonderful, most aromatic, healthy lavender source I have found. Mantanzas Creek Winery with their beautifully landscaped lavender gardens and vineyards is nestled in the foothills of the eastern hills of Sonoma County in Bennett Valley.

My favorite product I often give to my friends and clients is the Lavender & Cedar spray. Here you get the best of both worlds to keep the little moths and other pests from harming your clothing. At times they sell a potpourri of the lavender and cedar herbs and sachets to put away in your clothing drawers.

The lavender spray I use on Yofi the Poodle; which is a magical repellent to ticks. When I spray it on her hair I come home with maybe just a few ticks from the vineyards. If I forget to spray her, I come home with over 20 ticks attached to the long hair of her ears. Besides, this natural and sweet smell of lavender on my Yofi the Poodle is delightful.
