NAPA VALLEY'S NATURAL FALL ORDER

Yofi, my poodle and I make a daily walk through out the vineyards of Napa Valley before going to work creating organized cabinetry.

It is my daily reminder as to how natural order in the world is my teacher and coach in how we all keep order in our homes. Nothing should be forced or fake. It is a process of design and innovation to create calmness and order in the homes of my client's.

As a designer I wish for my client's to have the same natural order and ease in their homes as the natural order of the earth. For the season of fall is a time to let go of dead attachments, to slow down and live a less florid life. This is the season of the autumn.

We finally had a gorgeous and warm weekend without rain, and I was finally able to harvest some pussy willows for decorating this week end. Yofi the Poodle loves jumping around in the mud puddles as I clipped away. The pussy willows are found in the river and creek banks amongst brush and bramble, so with long pants on and water proof boots I got to work. Each year I replenish my pussy willow display at home as well as our showroom in San Francisco. Some people think that it is bad Feng Shui to have dead plants in the home, but it is dirty, dusty, old and damaged wood that are bad. Just like damaged furniture, which is of a dead plant. This practice is most important in the bedroom.

Another cold walk, but in the vineyards of Napa today. Enjoying the fresh air, looking at the raisins now hanging on the vines. Yofi the Poodle is jumping in and out of the mud puddles and having a grand old time.

This weekend while enjoying nature I cruised into Yountville to take a look at man's work with nature and order. This is an enchanting little rock garden some one created for Domaine Chandon Winery Center here in Yountville, (Napa Valley) CA. It was a perfect cool fall day to walk among the rocks where the oak leaves had fallen so gracefully around the mushroom rocks.
