NAPA CUSTOM CLOSET

NAPA CUSTOM CLOSET

Some detail finishes of this nice new closet with it's cool pulls and a jewelry lock on the side. Lock is not in plain site and does not ruin the look of the nice fronts and drawer pulls.

CUSTOM CLOSETS

CUSTOM CLOSET BY RC Cabinets & Closets

A delightful and organized custom closet for a gentleman's closet in Napa. Custom painted and custom designed organized drawers and shelving as well as custom clothes hanging.

This custom closet is also quite similar to other homes in Napa in the same plans at the Silverado Country Club Homes.

CUSTOM HOME OFFICE, SAINT HELENA

CUSTOM HOME OFFICE

For a professional author in need of lots of storage for research files, research books and the need to spread out her work. A well used office for years to come here in the vineyards of St. Helena, Napa Valley.

CUSTOM CLOSET

JEWELERY RACK FOR NECKLACES

The above photo is a partial view of a beautiful closet I designed here in my own neighborhood of Napa. The partial view of the closet is of a rack the client and I collaborated together in designing for her necklaces right next to her other accessories of scarf on my client's favorite scarf rack.

Again, designed by Malka of RC Cabinets & Closets of the San Francisco Bay Area.

CUSTOM HOME OFFICE

CUSTOM HOME OFFICE

This lovely custom home office replaced a simple messy desk with a custom painted and well organized built in desk and wall system. The top is a wonderfully workable and practical solid core laminate by Formica. Easy to clean and one would never know it is a Formica with out seeing a seam on the edge. Designed by Malka along with Napa's talented Interior Designer: Thomas Bartlett and manufactured by Malka of RC Cabinets & Closets San Francisco and the North Bay.

NAPA ARCHITECTUAL SIGHTINGS

NAPA MILL

The Napa Mill is a fairly new hot spot in Napa that is an old building refurbished and created into a hotel and shops. The mosaics that wind around an outside patio were created by Alan Shepp and depicts the history of the Mexicans and Chinese and others in the Napa Valley and their tragedies with the Klu Klux Clan and other such groups.

Now Napa's historical architectural beauty.

NAPA ARCHITECTUAL SIGHTINGS

These are some photos of a lovely walk we had in a newly recreated section of Napa along the Napa River. Architecturally beautiful old buildings were remodeled and some new buildings built to resemble the look of the Napa of long ago. Downtown Napa is looking good these days especially in our spring showers.

ST. HELENA HOME TOUR

This is a very lovely front door of a talented interior designer located in St. Helena. Just a very small house tour but it was a favorite view for me that day. I will finish the tour later when I get to know this designer and trusting we will work together on some equally lovely custom closets and cabinets. Great spaces of cabinetry here in St. Helena, straight from our showroom in San Francisco and straight from RC Cabinets & Closets and Malka...

EARTH DAY - TO OUR NATURAL ORDER

OUR NAPA'S EARTH DAY

I spent over 2 1/2 hours walking along the Napa River down town picking up trash with Yofi the Poodle tethered to my belt on her leash.

First excited about this day but soon began to be frustrated at all the cigarette butts that I took a lot of time picking up. I am amazed as to how a smoker can think that these butts don't matter.

SILVERADO COUNTRY CLUB ESTATES

Custom Closets and Pantry

Another beautiful home of a client who resides in the Silverado Country Club Estates of Napa, California. The door above was custom made by a Napa Stain Glass Maker that I will have to find and blog about. I just loved the door and the entire house on different levels. We finished the closets, pantry and an amazing home office. Will blog about that one too.

NAPA CUSTOM HOME OFFICE

NAPA CUSTOM HOME OFFICE

This was a very simple and small job to do but was created to be very efficient and organized than before. With a few additions we were able to discard bits and pieces of furniture and file cabinets that were not maximizing the space and was making working at the desk difficult.

We constructed this new office space in industrial grade white melamine with 3/4" melamine counter, plenty of drawers for office supplies, two files and a pull out keyboard tray. The wires are still being organized to be more hidden. In the mean time this space has given the client far more desk and storage space without taking up as much of room as the other pieces were.

NAPA CUSTOM HOME OFFICE

NAPA HOME OFFICE

What is amazing is that this Napa Home Office is not real wood but a high quality melamine with a photo of wood imprinted on it. Rich and gorgeous to look at, it is also very easy to maintain and clean. Never scratches like real wood, it is a high quality product. Not what you would find in a retail store, at least none that I have been able to find.
I custom design these nice home offices and love to finally get the client well organized. I so much love my office. I cannot seem to work in mess anymore. My office has to be clean, neat and well organized for me to concentrate.

BUTLER'S PANTRY

BUTLER'S PANTRY:A butler's pantry is a utility serving room generally in a large home. It is primarily used to store serving items, rather than food. Traditionally, a butler's pantry was used for storage, cleaning and counting of silver.

In modern homes, butler's pantries are usually located in transitional spaces between kitchens and dining rooms, and used as staging areas for serving meals. They commonly contain counter tops, and storage for tableware, serving pieces, table linens, candles, wine, and other dining-room articles. More elaborate versions may include refrigerators, sinks, or dishwashers.

I grew up in an old in home in Los Angeles with a butler's pantry that actually had a floor foot button to hit to open the door while we carried the trays in to the formal dining room. It was a very useful room to stash all the dirty dishes quickly and still enjoy the meal before completely cleaning up.

The photos above are basic pantries I designed that are similar to what can be referred to the old term of the Butler's Pantry.

SCULLERY

SCULLERY:
A small kitchen or room at the back of a house used for washing dishes and other dirty household work. From Latin scutella ‘salver,’ diminutive of scutra ‘wooden platter.’

This is another word no longer in use in our modern world. But an interesting word to me.

The above photos are some examples of SCULLERIES that I have designed for clients. Most are located in Napa Valley. The top photo is actually a wine tasting prep room for Quintessa Winery. The second and third are part of a laundry room. The second sink section with the door cut out is for their cat litter box. The last small prep room is included in a kitchen pantry in Angwin and used.
