ST. HELENA CUSTOM BOOK SHELVING & DESK

This is a recently finished wall unit for book shelving and attached desk I (Malka) designed for a home in St. Helena. It is made of a custom stained alder by our shop. I worked with the best contractor I have ever worked with of all the 30 years that I have been in this business. Of course she is a woman who is always well organized herself; Polly Ogden. Polly specified the tall valance for this terrific lighting fixture that can glide back and forth. I am sure it looks much better with books and artifacts on the shelving. A very satisfying, creative job and a lovely clients, as always.

The closet! Yes, I redesigned it for better organization and modern living. Note the old fashion shoe shelving on the door. It seems the original couple had at least several shoes if not much space for clothing.

A nice old home in a quite section of Sacramento, CA is being readied to be revitalized. A young and cosmopolitan San Francisco couple recently bought the house but wish to keep the unique characters of the love an old time architect and home builder gave it so many years ago.

Designing a large Wardrobe Closet in the beautiful water front home of a client in Tiburon, California. Here I am looking over the San Francisco Bay. Even the closet window has a breathtaking view. These bay front homes require a high quality wood product and finish to prevent water absorption that turns into warping of the panels and shelves in the cabinetry.

YOFI THE POODLE

I had created custom closets for a client in the Glen Ellen area of Sonoma some years ago. The house is up for sale right now, so I made another little visit to their old home. These are some nice photos of the house for a mini house tour and my puppy Yofi.

MY CLOSETS IN THE BERKELEY HILLS

Here are several photos of unique homes in the Claremont area of Berkeley California. This is an area of homes that I have some of my most complicated and challenging jobs to design. The older homes do not generally have simple boxes of rooms or closets to design custom home offices or custom closets. The room's walls are often of plaster and are very small. But all are still always quite beautiful because they are unique.
